Easy Professional Networking? It’s possible!

As you have already understood a good cover letter or some extra keywords sprinkled around your resume will not help you stand out in today’s job market.

So instead of just applying for a job online, make sure you get involved in as many important conversations as possible, and get to know as many people as possible. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds.

You can start by identifying the companies and people you would be interested in working for. For example, in the Hospitality industry there are a lot of relevant events or conferences you can attend. Most of them provide a brief description of the speakers and companies present, which will help you understand how many and what useful contacts you will gain access to.

You can also find other events, online or offline, through professional organizations or specialized websites – such as Workathlon.

When you network, you can start talking about your professional vision, your potential and what you can offer to companies. These conversations may lead to interviews or other valuable recommendations. You also have the opportunity to communicate with real people – instead of being increasingly frustrated by the constant silence in your inbox.

While there are a ton of job search strategies you can follow, they all have one thing in common: the rights contacts are everything. When you do this, you will see new opportunities appear where you may not expect it at all!
